As a massage therapist I entered the realm of IG when I began offering continuing education. Your plan sounds much more structured and coherent than any I ever came up with yet I still burned out on the constant grinding for what is ultimately ephemeral content.

I then had a hack on my Facebook a little over a year ago that disabled my ability to advertise/post in the way I was accustomed and caused me to really evaluate what I was doing to myself.

I still do the IG/FB thing, but in a much more sustainable and controlled manner. I write more here on Substack, on my business blog, and a couple of monthly newsletters.

It really is and I need it be. Since leaving the corporate world one of my governing values has been to be more gentle with myself. This month I’m not meeting all my goals, but I’m going on vacation and somehow those two things make the other okay.

Thank you for writing about your experience of Instagram. It's really interesting. Do you think insta is worth bothering with?

Thanks Jane! I think it can be worth using if you have a clear strategy, you know who you are talking to, and what you are hoping to achieve from it. It is definitely a commitment 😊
