Welcome to Therapreneur Diaries!
My brand new newsletter documenting the BTS of running an online private practice
Hello!
I’m Natasha, and I’m excited to invite you to my Therapreneur Diaries. This Substack is where I’ll be sharing the real-life journey of balancing my roles as a therapist working with the NHS and a business owner running a private practice. I’m looking forward to this journey with you and hope you’ll find it valuable and engaging.
Why I Started Therapreneur Diaries
Balancing the demands of being a therapist with managing a private practice over the last 10 months has been both challenging and rewarding. It’s been a rollercoaster. I swing between feeling really confident, to feeling overwhelmed, and everything in between.
In a typical week, I work in the NHS and I am seeing private clients, supervising therapists, marketing, creating content, managing finances, doing admin tasks, as well as looking after my family, maintaining a social life and taking care of myself.
I wear so many hats and at times I don’t feel like I know what I’m doing!
But I love working with clients, and developing my private practice is an opportunity I want to grab hold of and have no regrets.
I realised that documenting this journey could be a valuable resource—not just for myself but for others who are also working to balance similar dual roles.
Therapreneur Diaries is designed to be a space where I can reflect on my experiences, share insights, and stay accountable to my goals. My hope is that by sharing both the highs and lows of my journey, I can offer support, inspiration, and practical advice to other therapists, mental health professionals and business owners.
What You Can Expect
Here’s what you can look forward to with Therapreneur Diaries:
Reflective Diary Entries: Reflective diary entries centred around a specific theme related to my experiences as a therapist and business owner. These reflections will cover topics such as client presentations, marketing strategies, managing work-life balance, and personal growth. My goal is to provide a candid look at the challenges and wins I encounter along the way.
Therapreneur Check-ins: Regular check-ins will update you on my progress toward specific goals and projects. I’ll share what’s working, what’s not, and how I’m adjusting my approach. I might include a overwhelmometer…
Community Engagement: I want Therapreneur Diaries to be more than just a reflection of my journey—it’s also about building a supportive community. I’ll encourage you to share your own experiences, challenges, and successes. Each post will end with a question or prompt to foster discussion and engagement.

As an NHS therapist myself, I’m super interested to learn more about how you balance this with private practice. I’d love to go down this route in the future, too. So, I’m reading your posts from the very beginning. 👏🏼👏🏼 I’m interested… have you had any backlash from people in the NHS for going private too? Or have colleagues been generally supportive?
P.S. lovely to *virtually* meet you!
